I can now see myself using more web 2.0 for my own learning and to enhance and provide different strategies and resources for my students also. Sharing ideas and being apart of different online communities is a great idea when used in the correct way. Web 2.0 tools can be used in improving learning outcomes. Students have opportunities to search, share and collaborate to improve their learning. I believe that you have to be clear about what outcomes are been achieved when using web 2.0 tools as it's easy to get of track if the purpose isn't clear.
Wiki's (e.g. wikispace) are a great way to share knowledge with others. This tool can be used to share their learning and knowledge of a particular topic.

module 9
Scootle is a great networking site and been able to follow others learning paths is a great concept and tool to use in the classroom for students to see and learn from each other or other peoples work. I find this different to twitter and facebook as it is a better tool to use for learning whereas facebook and twitter tend to be used more on a leisure or social level. As with online social networking site all 3 of these sites are open to the same security issues such as identity theft, validity and accuracy of information is also an issue
module 8
After exploring google reader i have found it to be excellent for RSS feeds. This saves time by not having to perform searches as the updates come to you. I can see the benefit of using google reader to keep track of updates on frequently used sites or to stay updated on a specific issue
module 7
We have been introduced to deliciousas a social bookmarking as a staff before. We setup our delicious accounts, learnt how to tag and share bookmarks with others. This is such a great alternative to bookmarking within a browser as you can share your bookmarks, find others people have tagged and have access to them online from anywhere.
module 6
I am familiar with and have used inspiration before as a mindmapping software tool. I have found this to be useful in the classroom for students to map their knowledge. However, after using bubbl.us i think i'll be switching. bubbl.us is a great mindmapping tool allowing to edit, add to and share their work online making it possible for them to work from home.
Globster would be a great online software to use when creating online interactive posters. It's flexibility to use all data types and combine them makes it a great presentation tool.

module 5
We have had an inservice day on podcasts/vodcasts be our elearning coordinator and how it can be used within our teaching/learning as tools to enhance student understanding and learning experiences. Podcasts and vodcasts are a great idea that students enjoy creating. Recording what they have learnt orally and by video and uploading it to the internet is a good strategy in todays highly technological society. They also enjoy listening and learning from podcasts and watching vodcasts already available on the world wide web. Itunes and youtube are websites that provide a variety of these. I think we just have to be careful to ensure that we relate their learning experiences to the syllabus when using these strategies

module 4
I found Flickr very easy to use and believe it can have many advantage as a tool in the classroom and for project/group work as photo’s can be shared. I enjoyed the make stuff section and thought there were some great creative ideas for making gifts. After viewing the video on creative commons i have developed a deaper understanding of copyright and its importance. I believe it is important to educate both staff and students on copyright as to better avoid copyright breaches, so little people seem to understand how serious it is.

module 3
After viewing the google docs video it was immediately obvious that there are many advantages to using google docs as a learning and sharing tool amongst students working on a document together or when writing a group report. I found the tutorial on Atomic learning very useful and easy to follow. Setting up a shared document was easy and the features were easy to use and pretty much the same a normal document editor only that it had the benefit of been accessed online and edited by several people.
module 2
This module allowed me to discover the advantages using blogging as a learning tool. Blogging provides opportunities to share your learning and ideas with others and provides you with ways to manage who views your blog and gives others opportunity to comment. I also joined the course wiki in order to share my entries with others completing web 2.0. I viewed the Australian War Memorial blog. This gave me an insight into how much respect there is for the history of war.

module 1
Hi, my name is Mohammad Akkawy and i am currently a teacher at De La Salle College Ashfield
Activity 1 was a great way to enhance my understanding of web 2.0. I'm a technology teacher and i didn't realise there were so many different ways that can be personalised to suit my needs as well as the needs of the students when communicating, socialising, or collaborating with others online.
This has contributed to my curiosity of other possibilities and options i can use in my classroom in order to enhance my students learning and understanding through online sources, interactive sites and social networks.
